please take pity on me someone and help.. i was going to say that i suffer from aspergers syndrome but actually, i've come to rather enjoy it.. no, seriously, i really do have aspergers which is why my posts may seem a little odd to some of you.

ok, they may seem bloody odd to most of you.. my world exists in a binary frame.

things are or they are not.. i know that in the "real world" things might be or might not be as well as are and are not.

Dolt and cap'n, thanks for this discussion. I'm not going to weigh in intellectually as I haven't got anything to offer, but I've been trying to listen to a lot of Robert M Price's analyses of who wrote what and when, including which myths came first, and who borrowed what from whom.

I'm now going to check out carrier's work as I've been looking for a book on the dissection of the scriptures. If you have any further recommendations (specially cap'n regarding the consensus view), I'm all ears...

raymond franz it seems had limited resources yet he was able to provide crisis of conscience in printed form to what?

I've read it on pdf but really think that if I want to show anyone anything in it, the physical book would be far superior. Ridiculous prices on amazon..

i have posted questions on christian web sites.

those questions have always been polite and i have never used questionable language.

the questions weren't exactly in support of christians though.. what did i get for my efforts?.

I'm in the UK too, is skeptics in the pub just a brummie thing? I think I heard one of you guys on cognitive dissonance podcast a while back..

Jw talk is THE pro jw forum, but you won't stand a chance on there, it's so heavily moderated you'll be kicked off before you can say evolu......

They don't tolerate any questions or debates, it's just an "aren't we so good" fest over there. And I can fairly guarantee you that less than one percent of all witnesses will even know who Dawkins is never mind having read any of his writings. It's not allowed, if any of us (yes, I'm to all intents and porpoises an active, but non believing jw) got caught reading such material there'd be an inquisition. And nobody expects that!

Stick around bro, you'll no doubt get some discussions here anyway..

for 92 years the men running the wtbts have perpetuated & embellished this false teaching - especially so during the past three years - and hidden the bible truth about christ's brothers from millions of people fearful to question the org - created doctrine!.

Are You "Technically" Still A Jehovah's Witness?

even if you don't regard yourself as a practicing jw, some may view you simply as inactive, a lost sheep, etc.. if you were baptized but not disfellowshipped or disassociated, you may still be a jw---right?

I'm the same as stillin. The missus knows I think it's all hogwash but I put on the appearance for her sake and for our social life.

I've read the pdf, there's NO WAY I could've gotten away with reading and hiding a hard copy at the time. Now my feelings are out in the open I really want to buy COC to read and have around the house but can't afford the silly prices at Amazon.
